The triassic period was the third period of the Mesozioc Era It lasted from 14.5 mya to 65.5 mya (Millian years ago).

Sea life: extinct marine reptiles, ammonites, and rudists. Rays, sharks and teleosts became common in the ocean.

Terrestrial life: the land was populated by a vast array of dinosaur species. New species of insects coevolved with flowers to spread pollon. Many other new nonpollonating insect species also evolved. Birds evolved.
